Honda Civic EF 1991

Simplicity at its finest…

As far as I can remember, I never went googly-eyed for Hondas, even though they had the Prelude or the NSX (which were acceptable, in my opinion). The production the VTEC engines, the titanium pistons for its NSX were great but truthfully, I never really bothered. Admittedly, its technology is top notch and being at the top of the list for the highest mileage within its hybrid range, my preference for other brands remains above Honda. To me, branding is an important aspect of our lives but if anything, I would buy a Honda for its practicality but if we are talking about the fun factor in owning a car, I’d have to think twice. I do appreciate Honda for its advanced technologies, but as a fan, you can count me out.

Subaru WRX STI

Charging Spec-C’razy’

A simple difference between the normal GDB chasis Subaru Impreza STI and the Spec-C variance would be the immense lightening and improved handling between the STI and Spec-C. Though both variants share the same engine output, handling, the AWD system and other OEM parts, the difference lies with the weight shaving process which benefits the response and the handling of the car.

Toyota AE86

HACHI'S ON STEROID
If Takumi ever going into professional drifting competition level, this is the car he most likely will choose.

Years ago when drifting picked up on the momentum, drifting fans were treated with a free show every Friday at Sunway Go-Kart track. This small grass root event was dedicated to local drifting enthusiasts to bring their rear wheel driven cars to an isolated but controlled environment to hone their skills in drifting. This is where we spotted a potentially promising drifter named Tan Tat Wei aka “WahLauWei!”, given by the fans. Back then, he was drifting with his trusted Toyota TE71 with a 4AGE for weeks at a time at the kart track. We could see his skills and boldness advancing from running a perfect drift around the track to pulling off some fancy moves with those turbo boys. Eventually he went into competing with his TE71 in local and overseas competitions, giving us some of the best drifting battles over the years. Like any trusted horse, his TE71 would have to retire.

Nissan Skyline GTR 35

More RAWR for the GT-R
TAKING THE SKYLINE TO NEW HEIGHTS

The GT-R 35. A marvel to behold. So much has been seen, heard, and said about this technological powerhouse ever since it’s release. Why would we feature it again? The answer is simple: because we cannot get enough of it. Especially when a black premium trim version is sitting in the hands of a well equipped, experienced, and funded car modding enthusiast! There’s just something about it’s power, it’s sex appeal, and all the monumental goodwill behind the progress of the Skyline series to this point. You know you love a car when you cringe at a post-accident picture of it online, which was how we felt when doing some research on the R35.

Tarmac Ripper - The Nissan Silvia S15 FX Open/Formula D

The convoy into the car park for the photo shoot of this featured car was lead by our daily cars which honestly had nothing much to shout about. This wasn’t the sort of leading that would win you anything on the track race. The only reason the featured car was barely able to keep up was that it is too low for practical use to begin with. In fact, it is anything but practical on the streets. We knew the beast was inching over bumps on its way into the photoshoot location because its ear numbing growl made sure that its presence was felt. However, this monstrosity of a car performs like a wild beast in its natural habitat - drift tracks. It roars and screams as it burns rubber, clouding up its surroundings with smoke like a fire breathing dragon. The car, ladies and gentlemen, is the Nissan S15 Silvia heavily tuned for drifting by FX-Open/Formula D.
